"When I first came to apply at Viking Manor I came to apply for an office job. Applications were closed for that position and someone said “why don't you apply for a CNA job"? I didn't think I could do that job but I applied and started shortly after. I absolutely LOVED being a CNA and working so closely with the residents. They are like family to us. You get so close to them and also to their families that you see often.
I really like working here and have been doing it for 36 years now ☺ I was a CNA for 28 years and have been working in the kitchen as the CDM for the past 8 years. Viking Manor wants staff to succeed and will help with that in any way they can. I have had family members live here and I wouldn't want them anywhere else. What I like best about my job is the residents. You truly go home at the end of the day feeling like you made a difference and hopefully made someone happy during the day. I love doing special events with them like salad bars, making lefse, our ice cream stand, try and make their birthday special for them.
Viking Manor is great to work for. It is so nice to have it handy to my home so I don't have that long drive. The staff are great to work with. I would definitely recommend working here to anyone. We are the Home with the heart!!"
